The most ambitious and spectacular MacMovie made was Michael Green’s Zen Movie. Using the MacPaint images from his book, “Zen & the Art of the Macintosh” he created this movie which takes up a whole 20MB hard disk. In 1986, 20MB was as big as disks came, and cost over $1000, so nobody outside the film industry even considered such a complex animation. And NOBODY ANYWHERE thought it could be done on a toy computer like a Macintosh 512K.
Movie
Michael was the first artist to publish a book of drawings and graphics made exclusively on a Macintosh. It was originally printed on an Imagewriter dot matrix printer and revised when the first LaserWriter laser printer came out. Check it out here:
